In the voting leading up to the 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, the band, which according to sources received the fifth most votes and thus was eligible for induction, were allegedly denied election by Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner in order to allow the induction of Grandmaster Flash because no rap group was inducted into the hall. The Dave Clark Five have been nominated again for the 2008 ceremony but voting has not yet occurred.
